The former champion of the French Open is feeling proud after her victory in Linz, as she claims her second trophy of the season.

Ranked 11th in the world, Ostapenko is off to an impressive start in the 2024 season. The Latvian has participated in four tournaments so far, emerging as the champion in two of them. Her most recent triumph came at the , a WTA-500 event.
Ostapenko, who was the top seed, faced off against the second-seeded player in the finals. She comfortably defeated the Russian, winning the match with a score of 6-2, 6-3. This victory marks her 13th win of the season, with only two losses thus far. The title in Linz is her 16th career title.
In 2015, Ostapenko reached her first Tour final, but it wasn’t until 2017 at the that she secured her maiden title. In that tournament, she triumphed over in three sets. Following her victory in Paris, she went on to claim her second title of the season at the Korean Open, defeating Brazilian in the final.

Coming off a third-round defeat at the , Ostapenko had to regroup and fight back. She only dropped a set once, during her first-round match against , where she also saved a match point.

After a span of 7 years, Ostapenko has managed to win two titles in a single season. Her first triumph of the year came at the , where she defeated in the final in straight sets. This tournament was also a WTA-500 event.

With this latest triumph, the Latvian No. 1 is inching closer to re-entering the Top-10 rankings. She currently trails who has 3520 ranking points. Meanwhile, Ostapenko holds the 11th position, having swapped places with , who now occupies the 12th spot.
Ostapenko is just 47 points away from breaking into the Top-10, as she currently possesses 3473 ranking points. Although she withdrew from the Mubadala Open in Abu Dhabi at the last minute, the Latvian is expected to return to action in Doha, where she will be vying for her first-ever WTA-1000 title.
