In Las Vegas, there will be an exciting double sporting event this week. First, the LIV Golf tournament will take place, followed by the Super Bowl, the championship final of the NFL (National Football League), featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. The Super Bowl is scheduled for Sunday, February 11th.
Liv Golf Las Vegas is the second tournament of the 2024 Arab Super League and will be held from February 8th to 10th at the Las Vegas Country Club. This golf course, founded in 1967, spans 7,203 yards and has a par-72 layout. Joaquin Niemann, who recently triumphed in Mexico by defeating Sergio Garcia in a play-off on the fourth hole, arrives in Las Vegas with great expectations.
During the first round, Niemann also achieved a remarkable partial score of “59,” which is the second-lowest score in the history of this circuit. The record for the lowest score is held by Bryson De Chambeau, who scored a “58” in 2023 at the LIV Golf Greenbrier. Another player to watch out for is Jon Rahm, the highest-paid athlete in the world, as he makes his debut in this separate golf league.
Despite finishing third individually due to two late bogeys, Rahm led his team, “Legion XIII,” to victory in the team competition. Notable Major champions like Cameron Smith from Australia, Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson from the United States, and Sergio Garcia are also aiming for a prominent role in this tournament. Talor Gooch, who topped the LIV Golf individual ranking in 2023, will also strive to shine in Las Vegas.
Similar to other regular season events, LIV Golf Las Vegas offers a prize pool of $25,000,000. Out of this amount, $20,000,000 will be allocated to the individual competition, with $4,000,000 awarded to the winner. The remaining $5,000,000 will be dedicated to the team competition, with financial rewards for the top three classified teams.
Las Vegas, located in the United States of America, is the county seat of Clark County and the largest city in the State of Nevada. It is renowned for being the entertainment, shopping, and gambling capital, often compared to the city of Reno.
Las Vegas comprises various administrative units, including the city of Las Vegas itself, North Las Vegas, Henderson, and Paradise. Paradise is an extensive “unincorporated” area, meaning it is not officially part of the city but is directly managed by the county. The famous “Strip,” where numerous shops, hotels, and casinos are located, is situated in Paradise.
