Novak Djokovic is currently enjoying a vacation with his family in northeast Italy, specifically in the South Tyrol province. According to Italian newspaper Alto Adige, the Serbian tennis star will be spending a few days in this region. After his early exit from the Australian Open, Djokovic traveled to Spain before arriving in Bolzano with his family. During their stay, they are expected to explore the Alpe di Siusi and Val Gardena areas, which Djokovic has visited in the past. This is his first trip to South Tyrol since February 2020.
Djokovic’s arrival in Bolzano marks the start of his holiday in South Tyrol. The upcoming days will see him moving between the Alpe di Siusi and Val Gardena, both of which he has previously frequented. This information was shared via a tweet from Alto Adige, which also included a link to further details.
Following his unexpected loss in the semifinals of the Australian Open to Jannik Sinner, Djokovic’s tournament ended earlier than anticipated. Throughout the match, the Serbian player struggled to perform at his best, resulting in a 6-1 6-2 6-7 (6) 6-3 victory for Sinner. Djokovic admitted his dissatisfaction with his performance but mentioned the need for time to evaluate his overall performance in the 2024 Australian Open.
In a post-match interview, Djokovic expressed his current frustration and the difficulty of reflecting on the match immediately. However, he acknowledged his pride in his achievements and recognized that his winning streak would eventually come to an end. Despite not playing well, Djokovic acknowledged Sinner’s potential to win his first Grand Slam title.
As of now, Djokovic has not confirmed his participation in any events scheduled for February.
