Novak Djokovic’s longtime physiotherapist, Miljan Amanovic, experienced a heart attack several years ago. Amanovic has played a crucial role in Djokovic’s success and has been a part of his team since 2007. However, in 2017, Djokovic decided to release his entire team, including Amanovic, for a brief period. During that same year, Amanovic suffered a heart attack, which he attributes to the stress of constant travel and competition on the ATP Tour. As a result, Amanovic has reduced his workload and no longer travels as a physiotherapist. Nevertheless, he still accompanies Djokovic to important tournaments and was present during the recent event. The details of Amanovic’s and Djokovic’s journey are revealed in the upcoming book, ‘Novak Djokovic: The Greatest of All Time,’ set to be released on February 29th. Following his recovery, Djokovic offered Amanovic a different role at a tennis center in Belgrade, which he gladly accepted. Amanovic has since become a key figure in the growth of the center. Djokovic has emphasized the importance of Amanovic on his team in various interviews. Currently, Djokovic is taking a break from the court after his loss at the Australian Open, but he is expected to return to Indian Wells next month.
