Recently, Formula One rejected the bid of the renowned racing team Andretti Autosports to join Formula One for the 2024 season. The application was turned down due to concerns about the team’s competitiveness and its potential contribution to Formula One. However, discussions are ongoing to possibly reconsider this decision.
This was the second attempt by Andretti to rejoin the Formula One grid, as a last-minute deal in 2021 to take over Sauber fell through. While many team bosses oppose Andretti’s entry, the team principal of Red Bull Racing is open to the idea of the Americans joining the sport. However, he does not envision them joining as the 11th team.
Although the chances of Andretti joining the grid are slim, Horner has not completely ruled it out. During the same media session, the CEO of McLaren stated that Formula One has outlined the requirements and made the decision, and they are now focused on their own race teams and getting on with the season.
Christian Horner, the principal of Red Bull Racing, has faced allegations of inappropriate behavior in February and was reportedly asked to resign voluntarily. Since then, he has been under scrutiny and investigation. However, he has firmly denied these allegations.
Preseason testing for the 2024 season has recently concluded. During this period, Christian Horner and the Red Bull Paddock have been in the news due to a claim made against him by an employee of a company. Reports from Viaplay Finland suggested that Christian Horner would be let go by the end of the week, but it was later clarified that this was mere speculation and not an actual decision.
Despite the conflicting responses, Horner reassured Red Bull supporters that he would lead the team confidently into the season and emphasized that there is no animosity between him and other key figures at Red Bull. Nevertheless, speculations about the future of the current Red Bull team principal continue to circulate, and his fate remains uncertain.
