Reema Juffali, a racing driver from Saudi Arabia, has been granted the first wild-card entry in this year’s F1 Academy series for the opening race in Saudi Arabia. The announcement was made on Monday. The all-female single-seater championship revealed on February 5 that wild card entries from the host nation would be chosen to compete with the PREMA team. Juffali, who is the first female racing driver from Saudi Arabia, has been selected to race when F1 Academy visits her home country from March 07 to 09. Her racing career began in 2018, participating in the TRD 86 Cup and MRF Challenge. In 2019, Juffali traveled to the United Kingdom to compete in the British Formula 4 Championship, achieving multiple points finishes over two seasons. In 2021, she continued her journey in British single-seater racing, earning more points finishes in the GB3 Championship. In 2022, Juffali switched to sportscars and endurance racing, establishing her own team called Theeba Motorsport. She achieved a class podium in the Dubai 24 Hours and secured her first international moto race win in the International GT Open pro-am class in Estoril, becoming the first Saudi Arabian woman to do so. In the same year, she made history by becoming the first female and first Saudi Arabian driver to claim a pole position in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup. Juffali will continue to compete in GT World Challenge Europe while making her wild card debut in F1 Academy. She expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to represent her country and participate in the race in her hometown. Juffali hopes that her presence in the sport will inspire Saudi fans and show them that they too can pursue racing. She sees this as just the beginning of her journey.
