Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) unleashed his criticism towards Devin Haney in an explosive announcement of their upcoming fight on April 20th, set to be broadcasted on DAZN.
During an interview, Ryan referred to WBC light welterweight champion Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) as a “fraud,” accusing him of deceitfully posing as a friend to manipulate him.
Ryan also targeted Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero, who he believes made a foolish decision by opting not to face him for a significant purse of over $20 million. Instead, Romero settled for a much smaller payday by fighting Isaac Cruz on the undercard.
Taking Shots at Haney
“These individuals attempt to deceive you by putting on a friendly facade, only to betray you when the time comes,” expressed Ryan Garcia during a conversation with Compas on The Beat, referring to Devin Haney.
“I won’t allow that to happen. I see right through you. You’re a counterfeit; you’re a sham. Your father is a phony, and everyone surrounding you is a fraud.”
Ryan harbors deep mistrust towards Haney and has no interest in dealing with his treacherous behavior.
“I spoke to him on the phone, and he was excessively amiable. I noticed that. ‘Calm down, we’re not friends, bro. Don’t try to manipulate me. You’re a strange individual.
‘The ‘Done Deal’ and Vegas Excitement
“It’s official and confirmed,” declared Ryan Garcia when asked about the status of his fight against Haney. “Possibly,” responded Kingry when questioned if the bout would take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
“I left the decision to the fans. There was a close poll between Devin Haney and Rolly. Ultimately, Devin emerged with the majority, and I decided to make it happen.
No Regard for Rolly
“You won’t find a bigger fool who went from headlining to a random pay-per-view event that nobody will watch, sacrificing a potential $20 million or more for a meager payout,” Ryan expressed his disappointment regarding Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero’s decision to face Isaac Cruz on March 30th instead of him.
If Rolly suffers a defeat against Pitbull Cruz, he will undoubtedly regret not accepting the opportunity to fight Ryan when it presented itself.
“I’m a clown? You’re the real fool here. Everyone knows Rolly is a joke,” Ryan concluded.
