Carlos Sainz Jr, the Spanish driver for Ferrari, expressed his relief at successfully completing the first two practice sessions for the Australian Grand Prix in Formula 1. Despite not being fully recovered from his recent appendicitis operation, Sainz was able to complete 48 laps during the practice sessions. He had previously stated that he would step aside if he was not fit to compete, but it seems that he will be able to continue in the SF-24 car. Sainz acknowledged that he felt tired and not at his physical best, but overall, he had a good day and was pleased with his performance. He is hopeful that with more laps and increased confidence, he will be able to challenge for pole position in tomorrow’s qualifying session.
