Every player desires to excel and enhance their chances of being drafted. Spencer Rattler, the quarterback from South Carolina, was one of those players who had an impressive week of practice. He carried that momentum into the Senior Bowl as well.
The 23-year-old only played two possessions in the Senior Bowl. Nonetheless, he had a flawless 4-4 passing record and threw a 29-yard touchdown pass on their initial possession of the game. This outstanding performance earned Rattler the title of MVP of the 2024 Senior Bowl. It is a tremendous honor for Rattler and according to Dan Brugler of The Athletic, this achievement has boosted the quarterback’s draft prospects.

Spencer Rattler commenced his college career at Oklahoma and spent three seasons there. Prior to the 2022 season, Rattler made the decision to transfer to South Carolina. He completed his final two seasons with the Gamecocks and is now preparing for the upcoming draft in April. The 2024 draft class is brimming with exceptional quarterback talent, particularly in the first round. Currently, Rattler is projected to be selected within the top 100 picks.
However, according to Dan Brugler of The Athletic, Rattler has the potential to improve his draft stock. Winning the MVP title at the Senior Bowl was the first step in elevating his standing among NFL teams. The next challenge for Rattler is to deliver an outstanding performance at the upcoming combine, followed by his pro day. There is an abundance of footage showcasing Rattler’s abilities, but scouts are eager to witness them in person and evaluate the six-foot-one quarterback firsthand.
Throughout his five seasons in college, Rattler amassed a total of 10,807 passing yards, 77 touchdowns, and 32 interceptions. Following the Senior Bowl, Rattler stated that he would be returning home to Phoenix to continue his training. He has over three weeks until the NFL combine commences on February 29th. If he performs well at the combine and his pro day, the 23-year-old has the potential to be selected in the second round.
