Rossmonster’s most recent creation is based on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with all-wheel drive and a 170″ wheelbase. This is a popular choice for their camper van projects, as Rossmonster specializes in producing high-end campers.
Let’s begin with the exterior of the vehicle. The rig is equipped with steel rims and BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires. Personally, I believe the Sprinter would have looked more appealing with different rims, such as those from Black Rhino. However, since this is a custom vehicle made to the customer’s specifications, it’s likely that they specifically requested these rims.
Being an all-wheel drive vehicle, the Sprinter is already capable of handling off-road adventures. However, Rossmonster wanted to enhance its capabilities even further, so they made a significant upgrade to the suspension. They installed the Evictus 2.65″ kit, which is specifically designed for the Sprinter van. This kit features anti-cavitation valves and 2.65″ steel monotone shock bodies. Additionally, it has a dual-piston design, allowing the suspension system to self-adjust according to the road conditions. This suspension upgrade improves the ride comfort, reduces body roll, and minimizes road noise. The price for this upgrade is $10,915 (€10,132).
Moving on to the roof of the vehicle, you’ll find a large Aluminess roof rack. This rack is capable of holding a Fiamma F45 awning, a spacious Thule storage box, and a StarLink. At the rear of the vehicle, there is an Owl Vans Expedition Box and a B2 bike carrier from the same brand.
Now, let’s step inside the camper van. Just like all of Rossmonster’s builds, the interior is tastefully designed. This particular unit features a tongue and groove ceiling with a walnut finish, Sterling Oak flooring, and Duramax steel upholstered wall panels. The white cabinetry is complemented by walnut butcher block countertops and a Kovi Fabric upholstered dinette.
One notable feature of the interior is that the driver’s cabin is not separated from the living space, creating a spacious and open feel. The passenger seat can be swiveled, and there is a swivel table mounted between the two front seats.
The kitchen area is divided into two parts. It includes a large sink with an extendable faucet, a flip-up countertop extension, a dual-burner induction stove, four overhead cabinets, an Isotherm fridge/freezer, an oven, and various drawers and cabinets beneath the countertops. Additionally, there is a control panel integrated into the kitchen wall for managing the lights, heater, and other features.
On the driver’s side, you’ll find the wet bathroom, which offers ample space measuring 24 x 36 inches (61 x 91 centimeters). It is equipped with a black showerhead, a Nature’s Head composting toilet, and a Nautilus self-cleaning sliding door. Adjacent to the bathroom entrance, there is a floor-to-ceiling unit that serves as a closet.
The final section of this camper van is the dining area/bedroom. It consists of two spacious benches and a rotating table. Underneath the bench on the passenger side is where you will find the electrical system of the vehicle. As is customary in most of Rossmonster’s creations, the power system is fully prepared for off-grid adventures. Notable features include a 3,000 W Victron inverter/charger and 800 Ah batteries. And of course, no off-grid van would be complete without solar panels. This van is equipped with 200 W solar panels on the roof.
The bench on the opposite side houses the plumbing system of the van, which includes an outdoor shower and a 30-gallon (114-liter) freshwater tank. Additionally, there is a 7-gallon (26-liter) greywater tank mounted underneath the vehicle.
There are two sleeping options available in this camper. Firstly, you can transform the two benches into a spacious bed by sliding the tabletop in between them and rearranging the cushions. This provides accommodation for overnight guests.
The primary bedroom is located above the dining area and offers more comfort than the converted bench sleeping spot. Rossmonster has equipped the van with an elevator bed, allowing you to adjust its position with the push of a button.
Other notable features inside this Sprinter van include a Nomadic 12 V A/C and a Maxxair fan. Additionally, an AquaHot hydronic heating system is available, providing both hot air and hot water.
Overall, Rossmonster has once again created an exceptional van that combines comfort and style for any adventure. However, be prepared to pay a significant price to make this van your own. Rossmonster’s custom conversions range from $60,000 to $150,000 (€55,665 to €139,162), depending on the chosen options.
