Lewis Hamilton is famous in the Formula 1 paddock for displaying his playful side from time to time. Prior to the Chinese Grand Prix, while engaging with the press, he playfully teased his teammate at Mercedes. Hamilton and Russell have been teammates since Russell joined Mercedes in 2022, and with this being Hamilton’s final year at Mercedes, they are making the most of their time together.
Despite being the second-oldest driver on the grid, Hamilton still feels relatively youthful. In contrast, he believes that George Russell is dealing with more physical issues than he is. Russell questioned the truth of this statement.
In a unique response, Hamilton remarked, “You are spending more time in Physio than I am.”
Lewis: Approaching 40 years old, I still feel young. I think George has more physical problems than I do today.
George: Do I?
Lewis: I know you spend more time with your physiotherapist than I do.
Drivers always have fun during media day before the demanding race weekend. On this eventful day, they interact with their fans, create videos for their team’s social media platforms, give interviews, and enjoy themselves. Russell and Hamilton were doing the same during the recent event in Shanghai.
As the second-oldest driver on the grid, Lewis Hamilton will soon join the 40s club. Alonso recently extended his contract with Aston Martin for two years, and Hamilton has signed a contract with Ferrari starting from 2025. Hamilton believes it’s beneficial to have someone close to his age in Formula 1.
While Hamilton envisions his future after racing, he is determined to win his record-breaking eighth world championship. At 39 years old, he has won almost everything there is to win in the sport, with the exception of another title. If Ferrari manages to produce a competitive car, he could potentially achieve this feat next year.
