One of the greatest things Derek Jeter did in his life was to choose a career in baseball instead of pursuing gymnastics. ‘The Captain’ himself explained the reason in his latest Instagram post, where the Hall of Famer was seen attempting cartwheels on his lawn. His wife, who thoroughly enjoyed his efforts, recorded the video.
The MLB legend struggled to lift his foot off the ground and failed three times while attempting cartwheels. Fans found the video amusing when it circulated on social media, but they weren’t the only ones. Olympic swimming sensation Michael Phelps and MLB great David Ortiz also commented on the video.
Phelps expressed his surprise at Jeter’s hilarious failures, noting “😳😳😳”. Ortiz, on the other hand, questioned, “What are you doing? 😂”. In the background, Hannah could be heard laughing as she continued to record her husband’s attempts.
“No, stop it! You’re embarrassing yourself, please get up. Let’s go,” Hannah said. However, Jeter’s determination couldn’t be extinguished as the Hall of Famer challenged fans and everyone else to give it a try.
Since the age of 20, Derek Jeter has dedicated a significant portion of his life to the New York Yankees, signing with the team in 1995. The beloved baseball legend bid farewell to the field in 2014 after two decades of playing for the team. Following his retirement, he expressed gratitude to Hannah Davis for being his biggest supporter throughout his baseball journey.
The couple met in 2012 through a mutual friend, shortly after Jeter ended his four-year relationship with Minka Kelly. They began dating soon after and got engaged in 2015. They tied the knot on July 9 of the following year and have since welcomed four children.
Their children include three daughters and one son: Bella Raine Jeter (6 years old), Story Grey Jeter (5 years old), River Rose Jeter (2 years old), and Kaius Green Jeter, born on May 5, 2023. The couple frequently updates their social media profiles to share updates about their intimate family celebrations.

They have often been spotted together on vacations and at events, sometimes even with their children in tow. In a blog post for The Player’s Tribune, Hannah revealed that she initially didn’t know Jeter played shortstop and not pitcher.
She stated, “We met at the perfect time,” and expressed her happiness that neither of them had any strained relationships as “Derek’s life and mine were aligned.” The couple continues to be adored by fans, even with Jeter now focusing on off-field endeavors and business ventures. Fans are delighted to stay connected and share moments with their beloved ‘Captain’ even today.
