Elon Musk is set to make an appearance at the UFC Apex on Saturday, as confirmed by Dana White, the CEO of the promotion. With Super Bowl LVIII happening on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas is buzzing with famous personalities. Just before the biggest football game of the year, UFC Fight Night 236 will take place just a few miles away at the UFC Apex. White revealed to the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Wednesday that Musk is expected to be among the attendees at the fights.
According to White, “The people who are in town for these events include Elon Musk, who will be coming to the fight on Saturday.” It remains uncertain if this will be Musk’s first experience of live MMA fights, as the event on Saturday will be headlined by middleweights Jack Hermansson and Joe Pyfer.
Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has previously shown interest in MMA, particularly during his public exchange with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in 2023. The two tech billionaires had expressed interest in a potential MMA fight against each other, possibly at the Roman Coliseum in Italy. However, the idea eventually lost momentum.
During that time, White had offered to promote the fight and even sported a “Zuckerberg vs. Musk” t-shirt. He referred to the proposed matchup as the “greatest fight in the history of the world.” Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, attended a fight card at the UFC Apex in October 2022.
As of now, Musk has not confirmed or commented publicly on his attendance at the event. The fights were closed to the public and the media, ensuring a more exclusive experience.
