Heart of Racing (HoR) has finalized their driver lineup for the FIA World Endurance Championship LMGT3 in the #27 Aston Martin Vantage. The team has enlisted Ian James, Daniel Mancinelli, and Alex Riberas to compete in the upcoming season. Previously, James, the team principal, along with Mancinelli and Riberas, had participated in selected rounds of the 2023 season in the #98 NorthWest AMR car. Together, they finished sixth in the GTE Am category at last year’s Centenary Le Mans. James expressed his excitement for the upcoming season and the opportunity to continue working with Alex and Dani, stating that they make a strong team. He also mentioned their eagerness to build upon what they learned last year and see what they can achieve with the introduction of the GT3 class. In addition to the FIA WEC season, James and Riberas will also participate in Heart of Racing’s IMSA SportsCar Championship GTD commitments in North America. Mario Farnbacher will join Ross Gunn in the #23 car for the two upcoming race conflicts. Riberas shared his excitement about competing in the full WEC championship season for the first time and expressed his confidence in the team’s lineup. Mancinelli, who debuted in the WEC last year, expressed his happiness and pride in being back in the championship with the Aston Martin Vantage LMGT3. He also mentioned the strong bond between himself, Alex, and Ian, highlighting the family-like atmosphere within the team. Mancinelli is looking forward to the first race in Qatar in March and is excited to continue building on their previous experience. The HoR crew, one of the 18 LMGT3 entries, will begin the 2024 season with the official Prologue pre-season test before the season-opener at Qatar’s Losail International Circuit.
