Mercedes Formula 1 team revealed the design of the F1 Academy representative Doriane Pin’s car for the all-female single-seater series. The livery of Pin’s car is inspired by the W15 F1 challenger, featuring a predominantly black design with green striping and a silver nose. The engine cover of her #28 machine is adorned with a pattern of silver arrows. Pin expressed her excitement about racing the F1 Academy car and representing Mercedes, stating that she looks forward to the first race in Jeddah. She sees this season as a great opportunity to develop her career and skills in single-seaters, and is eager to discover new tracks and work with her team to achieve their goals together.
Pin is well-known for her achievements in the sportscar scene, particularly as part of the Iron Dames initiative. In 2023, she competed with PREMA in the LMP2 category of the FIA World Endurance Championship, achieving a second-place finish in class and winning the WEC’s Revelation of the Year award. Last month, Pin’s plans for the F1 Academy were confirmed, marking her entry into the world of single-seaters. She will be racing for the PREMA team in her debut campaign in the series and has also been included in the Mercedes Junior Programme. Prior to her participation in the F1 Academy, Pin competed in the F4 UAE series, where she secured her first pole position and race victory.
In addition to her single-seater endeavors, Pin will also be competing in the FIA WEC with the Iron Dames. She will be driving a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 in the LMGT3 class alongside her teammates Sarah Bovy and Michelle Gatting. The F1 Academy series will kick off in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on March 07-09.
