Before the AFC Championship Game, Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce engaged in some … antics. Kelce had the final laugh as his Chiefs defeated the Ravens to advance to the Super Bowl. New York Jets defensive star Quinnen Williams decided to playfully tease Tucker before the NFL Pro Bowl Games.
To refresh your memory, Tucker warmed up before the game near where the Chiefs players were attempting to do the same. Kelce and Patrick Mahomes felt Tucker encroached on their space. Then, Kelce proceeded to kick Tucker’s ball and then toss the Ravens kicker’s helmet.
Tucker later stated that Kelce became too agitated over the incident and Kelce referred to Tucker using inappropriate language.
Fast forward to Sunday’s Pro Bowl Games and Jets star Quinnen Williams wanted to ensure that we didn’t have a repeat of the hostility from the AFC Championship.
Williams jokingly made everyone move out of the way so that Justin Tucker had enough space to work.
Amusing move by Williams and clearly demonstrates that everyone in the NFL is well-aware of the conflict between Tucker and the Kansas City Chiefs.
For his part, Tucker seemed to take the teasing in a relaxed manner, laughing along as Williams prevented other Pro Bowl players from getting too close to the All-Pro kicker.
Tucker should be cautious about upsetting Travis Kelce, though. The last thing he desires is the wrath of Taylor Swift fans on social media.
No one wants to deal with that backlash.
