To truly comprehend the sheer madness that currently engulfs the United States of America (both presently and in general), one need only observe the reactions of soccer enthusiasts worldwide to the tragic shooting incident that occurred during the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade. This incident has led to comparisons between the country and Qatar.
With the upcoming World Cup scheduled to be held in North America, primarily in the United States, with the final match taking place at MetLife Stadium in the summer of 2026, the shooting in Kansas City has attracted even greater global attention and scrutiny.
Soccer fans, it seems, are not particularly enthusiastic about the prospect of the United States hosting the World Cup. A tweet expressing the belief that the country is unfit to host the event has garnered over 185,000 likes as of the time of this writing.
Imagine attending a football match with the constant fear of being subjected to gunfire at any given moment. It is simply inconceivable for the 2026 World Cup to be hosted in America, my friends.
Similarly, another tweet, which has gone viral with over 75,000 likes at the time of publication, suggests that the United States should face the same level of scrutiny as Qatar did when it hosted the 2022 World Cup.
I firmly believe that the United States should be subjected to just as much scrutiny regarding its ability to safely host a World Cup as Qatar did.
One Twitter user expressed their opinion, stating, “The USA is NOT suitable to host a World Cup. Guns are rampant on their streets, and they are engaged in numerous conflicts around the world. Qatar, on the other hand, had none of these issues and yet many of you called for their World Cup to be canceled due to their religious values, despite it having the lowest crime rate and number of arrests in the history of the tournament.”
“Many people had plenty to say about Qatar hosting the World Cup. I implore you to maintain the same level of scrutiny for the United States. In just two years, they are supposed to be hosting the event, and individuals will have to navigate the country while wearing bulletproof vests. It’s truly disheartening,” expressed another concerned soccer fan on Twitter.
Two days after the unfortunate shooting incident at the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade, reports indicate that one person lost their life, while an additional 21 individuals, including several children, sustained injuries.
The inaugural match of the 2026 World Cup is scheduled to take place on June 11, 2026, at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, Mexico.
