Two individuals have been accused of committing second-degree murder and multiple charges related to the use of a weapon and criminal activity in the shooting incident that resulted in the death of one person and injuries to 22 others during the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl celebration. The accused parties are Lyndell Mays and Dominic Miller, who were both officially charged. Miller’s charges were filed on Monday night, while the charges against Mays were made public on Tuesday. It is important to note that two minors have also been charged in connection to the shooting, but the details of these charges remain undisclosed. The incident occurred at the Chiefs rally, where an altercation took place. According to Prosecutor Jean Peters-Baker, Mays was the first to brandish a firearm, and others, including Dominic Miller, followed suit. Peters-Baker revealed that it was Miller’s gun that discharged the fatal bullet that ended the life of Lisa Lopez-Galvan. Both Mays and Miller are currently receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained during the shooting and are being held under a bond of $1 million each. Additionally, the Jackson County Family Court Division has charged two juveniles with offenses related to gun possession and resisting arrest. These cases are being handled through the family court system.
